Retrofit Coordinators
Experienced Retrofit Coordinators or project managers oversee the entire retrofit process, coordinating different trades, managing timelines, and ensuring quality workmanship.

- Initially complete or hold a Level 3 Domestic Energy Assessor Qualification - Level 5 Diploma in Retrofit coordination 
- Knowledge of building and construction - To be thorough and pay attention to detail

Retrofit Assessors, Energy Assessors & Surveyors
Retrofit Assessors visit properties and carry out surveys. These surveys are necessary to inform the decisions about which energy efficiency measures should be installed. Certified energy assessors evaluate a home’s energy performance and recommend suitable retrofit measures including insulation, heating systems and overall energy users. Building surveyors assess a property’s condition and structural integrity. Drone surveyors – use droves to conduct aerial thermal surveys of a property.

Architects
Architects help design retrofit solutions that align with the house’s layout and aesthetics.
- Entry Level - Experienced - £31,000 -£58,000 -  
- Bachelors Degree in Architecture. - You can apply to do an Architectural Assistant Level 6 Degree Apprenticeship to start Part 1 training for this role. - You could then move on to complete an Architect Level 7 Integrated Degree Apprenticeship to achieve Parts 2 and 3.

Retrofit Designers
Retrofit designers have more specialist knowledge and capabilities around surveys, Lidar/Laser scanning, 3D modelling, building energy modelling, technology & data.

- Already hold a Professional qualification in Chartered Surveying or Architecture - Diploma in Retrofit Design 
- Knowledge of building and construction - To be thorough and pay attention to detail - The ability to use your initiative - Knowledge of maths - The ability to work well with your hands

Environmental Consultants
These professionals advise on sustainable materials, energy-efficient technologies, and eco-friendly practices during the retrofit process. This can include green or blue roofing and landscaping to boost biodiversity or minimise risks from flooding.
- Entry Level - Experienced - ££25,000 - £50,000 -  
- Completion of a biology, chemistry, or environment related bachelor's Degree 
- Knowledge of geography - Maths Knowledge - Analytical thinking skills - Excellent written communication 
- University course or Apprenticeship.
